"Most Unique" at Vintage Motorcycle Show
This 1950 Imme motorcycle was winner of the "Most Unique" award Jan. 30 at the vintage motorcycle show in Dania Beach. Made in Germany, the Imme was special for many reasons but one of its oddest features is that it carried a spare wheel and tire.
The Antique Motorcycle Club of America Everglades Chapter brought 87 splendid old motorcycles to the competition, part of the Dania Beach Art & Antique Festival.
Stray Aid & Rescue participates to raise money to bring a mobile spay/neuter clinic to the tri-county area.

Volunteers help make shelters a ittle homier

Dogs at two Broward County-run shelters are resting a bit easier these days while waiting to be adopted, thanks to the efforts of local animal lovers. Volunteers from Stray Aid & Rescue are waging a fundraising campaign to outfit each of the facilities with new bedding. They've been conducting yard sales and other fundraisers so the pooches no longer have to use towels spread out on concrete floors, said Diane Fraser, the organization's founder.
Since taking on the project this spring, the group needs 30 beds to meet its goal of filling all 97 kennel runs at Broward County Animal Care & Regulation's shelters in Pompano Beach and at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Dog Days of Summer
Counting sheep (or maybe cats) just got better for the dogs at Broward County Animal Care and Regulation Division animal shelters in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach. That's because several special Kuranda beds were recently delivered to the animal shelters as part of a donation by Stray Aid & Rescue in Fort Lauderdale. (Read more...)
